Five Worst Reviewers on MouthShut

Five worst reviewers on MouthShut???. To decide to write on this, I assure you, is a very daunting venture, something a sensible writer would never attempt; unless of course he is a very good writer. Good writers are, however, also very generous and very jolly.

They would not venture to write such a review purely out of humility since calling someone a bad writer is not a very pleasant or ethical thing to do, especially for good writers. Please don’t go away thinking, however, that I’ve called my other fellow writers who wrote here before and myself unethical. That would not be a very desirable conclusion; undesirable on my part of course.

When I decided to write here, the first question that came to me was- Sure you’re going to name the five worst, but who are they, do you know? And my answer was, yes I do know them. I do know the worst members but unfortunately they’re more than five in number. Should I name them?

My politeness calls on me not to. There is no sense in naming members. I call them the worst writers for their vices. And vices are such things that are present in everyone; in varying amounts. All vices that I’ll stick on them are certain to be present in my and in you.

Some of them may be very prominent, for which reason you’d feature in my list and a lot of them would be hidden for which reason you would not feature on this list. But those vices will be present nevertheless. Instead, I’ll give you five general categories of writers. That’ll be fair and if you find yourself in it, then it’d do some good to you as well without hurting your feelings!

Class One

Before you go- give me a break!- let me clear things out for you. It has come to my notice very often as I read others that people review products and rate them low for very small or few demerits of theirs. Consider my review for example. Umm? let’s see, probably the one on USA. Yeah, right that one. My angst against the United States exploded only for one reason- that they’d started targetting Iraq for reasons that everyone knew were non-existent. This was the only anger I had against them. Read that review once. You’ll see how much I’ve exploded against the USA. That is not proper for a writer. In this world shaped by humans, nothing can be perfect, and the ideologies of a democracy even more so. USA is a country that has been reaching out to help people all over the world every now and then. And after all, a huge number of our country’s people migrated to that land to earn more and are settled their with a life arguable more comfortable than a life here. USA has been nice to us all through and has been nice to quite a lot of countries as well. The war on Iraq gives me no reason to call the USA bad names.

I apologize for that mistake once more. But some of what I wrote there is certainly rather true so I choose not to erase that completely either. However, that was probably the worst review I ever wrote here. Now you know what I mean by One speck is a Heck.

Class Two

I didn’t say that and not to you either. There are people out here who don’t hesitate to throw dirt in someone’s face in one clean hit. I mean, these guys don’t hesitate before they name somebody, private individuals and more importantly members, in their reviews when they’re off writing something acidic about something. I would like to quite someone though I’ll not tell you who it is- ’’Unlike my fellow member I’d rather not write in the? (so and so manner).’’ Consider this as a syndicate quote. This is a minor example and I think nobody has ever written like this, but there are people around here who write in this manner and they need to stop doing that. Simply because this is a very pathetic thing to do. That makes them the worst reviewers on MouthShut.

Class Three

You see, let us again take an example of my own review on Bajaj Caliber 115. I wrote something about the mileage. Something about it being dissapointing, bordering to calling it pathetic. People who actually owned the vehicle denied this and told me that the mileage is much more than what I’ve written about it. My reaction to that was- look, I tested as many vehicles as possible and I found it to be this. Don’t tell me it’s not. This is a very wrong thing to do because after all the members who chose to correct me did so because they’ve actual first-hand experience of it. I should respect their opinion. Even if I want to continue with what I’ve written, even then I should accept that yes what I know might be incomplete or misguided. In this world shaped by humans, nothing can be perfect. My own quote prompts me, doesn’t it?

Class Four

I have come across members who wrote something which I found unclear or wrong or angering and I left an M2M or two in their inbox. I received either very angry or acidic M2Ms from them or complete silence. I find this a very bad attitude. If some member has had the courtsey to write to you about some review you’ve written, you should have the courtsey to reply. I don’t mean you should accept my opinion. But you should at least acknowledge receipt. You should at least accept that yes, I’ve read what you have to say and thank you for considering me. Please, my dear members, be open to other’s opinions and hear what they have to say. To some extent, that is the charm of this website, isn’t it? You’re tarnishing it or muffling it, in some sense.

Class Five

I am the worst reviewer on this website. I know this member very well and I know that all the vices described above are present in him in larger or small extents. Therefore he is the worst reviewer. No, this is not a joke. This is basic self-analysis. By making such things public, I intend to make Juggernaut a better writer because from now on he’ll make a very conscious effort to make sure he doesn’t make those errors again.
