I had booked a flight via Flipkart Travel from YYZ-BOM-YYZ(Toronto-Mumbai-Toronto) on 01/10/2020, for the scheduled travel on 23/12/2020. Due to the breaking out of the second wave of COVID-19 in the United Kingdom, all flights were barred by many countries including India. Hence, British Airways cancelled the flight and informed me on 22/12/2020. Immediately said mail was sent to Flipkart for proceeding with the cancellation and initiation of refund. Even after rigorous follow-ups with them, Flipkart Travel always used to give assurance regarding the refund but till date, they have not refunded our money.
Whenever I approached them, they used to insist to contact the airline and get the confirmation mail regarding flight cancellation. I have shared the same multiple times since 22/10/2020. However, they have not acted upon the cancellation. As per Flipkarts request, we even contacted British Airways also, but they mentioned that the flight has been booked with the travel agent(Flipkart), therefore I need to contact Flipkart only for resolution. Now, after more than 5 months on 09/06/2021, when I asked about the status, one of the Flipkart representatives mentioned that you are no show on the flight and hence only Airport taxes can be refunded which is a shock for me.
When the British Airways flights were not operating from Toronto to India on 23/12/2020 and the airline also confirmed via mail, there was no relevance in mentioning no show on the flight. And this was been communicated to Flipkart and was rigorously followed up. However, as per my opinion, Flipkart has not timely acted from their end, and in turn, Im the sufferer.
This issue has disturbed me financially and mentally for the last 6 months.
