My order was returned on 6th Nov but until now I have not received the refund. I am changing my opinion regarding Flipcart. It is not such a good site either. Just like the other scoundrels in the market.
I have 2 experiences to share regarding Flipcart. One is good ; one not so good.First I ordered a recharging LED tourch ( Rs 375/- Cash on Deleivery) . It was delivered in time and in good condition.
Then I ordered : Order Id : OD21025161531
Product : Onida Window Tracy 1 Ton - W12TRC3 Window AC (White) for Rs 16550/- ( Cash on delivery ). Product was delivered in time. I wanted to check physical condition before payment , but it was not allowed. After I paid the money , I found it badly damaged ( heavy dent on body and grill broken ). I contacted Flipcart ; they wanted snapshots which I sent. They then told me that the replacement is not available and I will be refunded the money in 10 days.
I have following questions which online shopping sites need to answer :
1. As in Europe , they have the system where the customer is supposed to open the package in front of delivery boy and verify the physical condition of the goods. This avoids a lot of problems later . Why is it not allowed in India - probably most appliances are not in good condition.
2. Are on-line shopping websites trying to sell damaged product which cant be sold in showrooms. Is that why they offer attractive discounts but promise new/undamaged product
3. Is it really advisable to buy large appliances on-line considering so many such cases
