Looks & Navigation: Very good looks. Reminds you of AMAZON. Easy to navigate across sections.
Search facility: I feel one of the most important features that Indian websites ignore is SEARCH facility. On couple of other books websites that I visited, the searches threw up all unrelated products. In this regard, I found FLIPKART to be good. Search facility shows products that I really wanted to look for.
Registration/Shopping cart/Ordering: Simple and easy. No unnecessary details are collected while registration. Shopping cart & ordering is quick and hassle free.
Payment options: You can pay by credit/debit cards, internet banking and cheques. There is no COD facility.
Order followup: After you place order you get order # and other details in an email like any other website. Tracking and checking your old/current orders is easy on the website.
My experience: This is where I have a grouse. Here goes my story. I ordered a book -One Up On Wall Street" by Peter Lynch. The MRP was 466Rs & after discount the price was 382Rs. For a book published by Simon & Schuster, I felt that price is too less. Then I thought it may be some special Indian Edition. The day after I ordered the book, I happened to visit Raheja Arcade in Koramangala for some work. I was surprised to see the same book being sold out there by a hawker for 100Rs. I knew it was pirated and obviously the price was less. The quality of the paper of that book was very similar to all those pirated books you get by the roadside. For one moment I felt, did I get cheated. Then I told myself, that atleat I am not promoting piracy and have ordered book from a genuine book seller. Next day when the book arrived from FLIPKART in courier, I was dumbstruck! I had paid almost 4 times the money for a book, which was no different than a pirated version. The quality of paper shouted out loud that indeed what I got from FLIPKART was pirated as well. This was a huge disappointment. I never expected such a thing from FLIPKART.
