Being too lazy to commute, and climb up and down shops, I have conveniently evolved into a veteran online shopper over the years. With my modest experience of over a decade in this physically productive and financially taxing habit, I have mixed experience on most of the popular online shopping websites in India. But, despite being a self-proclaimed online-shopping evangelist, I had to cross a few frontiers and go where millions of shoppers had gone before - and I had not.
So, in this pursuit, I decided to check out the popular website Flipkart.com. Though I had referred prices from it while ending up buying from other ’better’ sites before, this time I was pleasantly surprised by the new revamped website. The surprises didn’t stop here. The website has become much more zippy, with a more intuitive interface. The whole process of searching for the book I wanted to buy, registering, and making payment, took not more than 5 minutes. Though I was using IE8 the website was so fast and zippy that I actually felt I was doing it all in my Chrome browser (sorry, M’Soft folks, just couldn’t resist the comparison....:o) ).
I got the confirmation on the purchase made instantly on my mobile number and within a few minutes on my email as well. Even the despatch schedule was mailed last evening itself, a rare experience. But, the icing on the cake has been their prompt delivery - as I got the same this afternoon at 12.30. That’s about 24 hours from the time I placed the order. This has been the quickest delivery from any website I have shopped on till date, and I must thank and congratulate Team Flipkart.com for the ’customer delight’ which they had me experience.
