I had bought books with Flipkart in past and experience was good.
Then with latest order every thing went "downhill" to rotten!
I had to send some books to a cousin brother of mine who now lives in a village. Since it is a village courier will not service that address. So I called up flipkart helpline and asked whether they deliver to particular address. Agent took pin code, searched and told that - it will be dispatched thru "speed post" of Indian postal services.
Satisfied with his reply I placed order for 2 books, completed(payments etc.)
Next morning came first surprise, mail from flipkart dispatch team that one of the books is dispatched and dispatched thru "Professional Couriers"! I immediately shot a mail to flipkart got a standard apologetic mail(probably from a template) saying preference of speed post has been noted and next dispatch of this order will be dispatched thru "speed post" only.
Meanwhile, we got a call from courier company office in nearest town which is about 20 kms from delivery address(village) to "Please come and collect, we will not deliver to this address"!
Then came second shocker mail from flipkart dispatch team, that second dispatch also sent thru Professional couriers!. Does flipkart has a customer service department? May be existing only on paper? Does flipkart executives understand English? if yes, why are they doing things which will trouble customer in-spite of requesting not to do so and they having agreed for it?
Their website and advertisements are very very good, but service SUCKS.
Beware and avoid it! Or be prepared to be ignored once money is paid! Typical "Indian" company!
