Does not care about it's loyal customers.

I’m a frequent online shopper and have been shopping from many websites including flipkart. I must have at least placed 20+ orders with them this year itself which would amount to no less than 50k. Recently I placed an order for many computer components from flipkart  to put together a desktop computer. I bought all parts from flipkart even though it was overpriced compared to market price. To be honest I was very impressed with their speedy delivery and range of options and I also heard about their 30 days return policy.


Unfortunately one of the items I Ordered ( a Computer cabinet fan worth 299rs) did not fit into the computer cabinet. I thought why not call flipkart and get a exchange. I called their customer care and spoke to a rep only to be informed that I need to speak to Technical department who at that time were busy. So I was told that I would be receiving a call from tech department within a few hours which never happened.


I called back again and spoke to technical deptt who informed me that their tech department tried to reach me however my phone was switched off. I told him that it  was a complete lie since I had the phone with me all the time. The guy told me he would escalate my case to some computer department who would get back to me within 24 hours. I had enough by this time and I requested to speak to a supervisor only to be informed that he is not around. I lost my cool and gave a peace of mind to the rep who by the way was rude. Supervisor came on the line when I informed the rep I would write to news media.


Biggest disappointment in this entire story was the supervisor who plainly told me it’s flipkart policy not to exchange any product. He informed me they would only replace the product in case there is any manufacturing defect or in transit damage. He was very blunt and had no courtesy towards the customer. He was talking to me only for a formality.


I realize that shopping from flipkart is only good till you receive the order. If I had ordered the same products from a offline store I would have got good discounts plus the shopkeeper would have exchanged my product unlike flipkart who has a policy not to listen to customers.. I have been a loyal customer for them and I have advocated about online shopping especially from flipkart to many many friends but the kind of trouble I had gone I will think twice before recommending or buying anything from again.


I feel deeply disheartened with the fact that flipkart let go one of it’s loyal customer for a 299 rs product.  I have read online where people are calling flipkart " Amazon of India ". What they don’t realise is that for Amazon it’s the customer who comes first unlike flipkart who hires supervisor to talk policy’s to customer.


As i;m typing this review my 4 day old keyboard I ordered from Flipkart is not working properly. I’m thinking weather it’s worth calling them and talking to 5 different department to get an exchange.
