Have been going to Flora from many many years for nice chinese food, the food was( I say was) exceptionally good till the last time I visited in February or March this year, but my recent trip was on the 16th December 2009, we ordered for Sea Food Manchow soup( there was TOFU in it) nothing in sea food was there, but the taste was good, we asked the waiter why they have put TOFU he simply said it is not Paneer it is TOFU( as people say Paneer you should not have with sea food). We ordered a chicken fried Rice Flora Special and one Pork Chicken Fried Rice, with a chicken dish( burnt ginger garlic).
By looking at the Rice I thought my eyes are tired, the rice was not one would like to have in chinese( not the slim types) and it did not taste chinese, however the gravy was good.
I wanted to complain to the owner or manager but the old chap I have been seeing him from many years( he is very gentle and kind) so I did not feel like, but it indeed left a very bad taste in our minds, I felt bad that the place which we once preferred would now soon be out of the most visited list.
The price is high for the standard of food they supply. I would really like it to be back for what it was famous to be.
None the less can be given a try as I might have landed up on a wrong day when the regular cook might be on leave.
