FANTASTIC! BRILLIANT! MAGIC!
In fact Magic is the right way to describe Florida, and I don’t just mean because of Disney World.
We traveled there in 1997 for a family holiday and stayed at the Travel Inn in Kissemmee, very close to all the Disney parks.
We were told the package included a hire car which we could pick up from the airport on arrival – beware of the sting! – although the car hire is “free”, you have to pay for the insurance which is compulsory and could cost you as much as 32000 rupees for a fortnight.
Driving around in the USA is not a problem, the roads are wide, well sign posted and generally clear of traffic until you get in to the towns themselves but even then not a problem.
We visited almost all the parks during our stay except for the Sea-World. The cheapest way to visit all the parks is to buy the five-parks vouchers which are available from roadside booths (you’ll find one at almost every shopping areas), not only does it save you money but if you don’t visit all of the attractions you can return them and claim the money for any unused portion.
My favorite park was the Epcot Center just because it had a lot of high-tech stuff but all the other parks were great too. Loads of different rides at each of the parks so you are sure to have lots of fun. One thing you had better be prepared for is queues, whichever ride/attraction you want to visit there are always queues – but once you are on the ride or in the attraction, you soon forget the half an hour or forty minutes you had to queue up for. Each park has themed parades in the afternoon and evenings and also the fireworks display at night.
The parks have been designed to help the visitors as much as possible to the extent that you can hire buggies for the kiddies, electric wheelchairs or even manual wheel chairs if you are accompanied by disabled person.
There are a lot of other attractions besides the parks. There are a lot of big shopping malls around for that great bargain if you want to shop. A few beaches within driving distance, try Daytona beach if you can.
The space center if you are interested in space.
Florida has something for everyone from the age of 2 years to a 100.
Go on.. You only live once. Enjoy life while you’ve got the chance… visit the Dream World “FLORIDA”
Happy holidays.
