From a customer

I am going to write this from a customers point of view.

There are many family places to eat and that means children. Kids will be kids but if your child is old enough to understand try to teach them not to be jumping around in the seats and in booths to be kicking the booths as this is annoying to the people in the next booth. If at all possible take something along to amuse your child when they are not eating in case the place doesn’t offer this type of thing.

Try to be patient with your waitress. I frequent one place and most of the time the service is really fast but on weekends it can be slow simply because there are so many people there. Even with a large staff it can be hard to keep up and I have been a waitress in the past and I know these people rush around trying to please everyone and late at night they are very tired and achy and may not be as speedy as they are earlier in the evening so try to keep that in mind.

If your waitress doesn’t come back to refill your coffee or ask if you want anything else, catch her eye and wave her over. That will get them to you.

Most waitresses do not earn a high wage and depend on their tips to earn their living so try to tip them a reasonable amount. If you have a waitress that is rude that is a different story but if she is friendly and helpful I try to leave 20% of the bill as a tip. I also pile all the dishes and things into a big pile and pick the table up. Maybe that is just from habit of being on the other end of things.

If the food is bad please don’t yell at your waitress as she did not prepare it, she only served it to you. Politely tell her what is wrong with the food and she will send it back and get you what you want at no extra charge or some places will give you a certificate for a free meal the next time you come.

Try to be polite and friendly to everyone and they will do the same in return. If children are banging against your seat I see nothing wrong with saying excuse me to the parent and politely tell them the child is jarring you as you are trying to eat.

I know I have skipped back and forth on topics here. It is late and I wanted to get some reviews written before going to bed.

I have been here exactly two months now and had set a goal for myself to write a hundred reviews in that time but I will not rush them.
