Now I don't have to watch Emerill with a pen and p

I’ve always loved cooking shows-from the original Julia Child and others on PBS to today’s huge variety of possibilities. Both my husband and I watch FoodTV- especially favorites like Emerill Lagasse, Ming Tsai, the Two Fat Ladies and Mario Eats Italy. In most of our favorites there is far more than a recipe being showcased and it’s often hard to keep track of ingredients. Since the network advertises heavily that the recipes are available we decided to check it out.

We expected-recipes and show schedules and the site has plenty of both. We can easily find out when Emerill is cooking New Orleans style or when the Iron Chef will repeat the ’’Squid Battle’’. We were delighted to see much, much more. FoodTV has all the features of a high quality cooking site.

In addition to a searchable recipe and menu data base (which can be used by chef, cuisine type or course); there are suggestions for wine, a tips and techniques section, world cuisine, menus for special holidays and events. Each week there are featured menus which always include vegetarian and light choices. There are also celebrity chef bios and forums for fans. (as well as some recipe forums)

Rounding out the site are live chats with celebrity chefs, a series of excellent video demonstrations of basic techniques and, of course, a marketplace to purchase cookbooks and products.

FoodTV is a great all round cooking site and an excellent companion to the Food TV network shows.
