Ford County is a collection of short stories...a first by john grisham. Neither of them bring in the high legal drama like his previous novels..But with every story he’s proven that he is a great story teller.
Of all the stories my favorite was fetching raymond:
The character is so well developed, along with the side characters that it is impossible to tell if its a fictional , inspirational or purely a real story..
Raymond’s long letters to his mother, brother..his request for monthly stipend...and then his denial to come to terms with what he is faced with...a death sentence...are so real it touches you, and you empathize with him...even though he is a hardened & repeat convict.
All stories take you very close to complicated human nature....a master writer indeed.
It’s a must read...a light book compared to his other publications..
