I was so fascinated while seeing the models first drive at Brazil and then the subsequent reports from many car magazines. I booked this Ecosport on June2012. I knew this will be time taking as the launching dates are changing almost 4times already, dealer Bhavana Ford was full silent on the launch..
I got invitation via mail to see the 1st time for Ecosport discoveries at a mall in Ghatkopar, Mumbai. I was so frustrated despite being the 1st frontal look was awesome. When I come closing to this mini SUV I find it’s bit bigger than any hatch back, also the book space is so little and when I sit on the 3rd row with my daughter and wife by the side, it was fully cramped..very little leg room, front seats are not wide enough, even if I took the front seat extremely back still it feels me the steering is too close for my hand to operate.
Also see the rubber and inside plastic quality is very bad, the tyre size is smaller than any present SUV, rear view from center mirror is very bad when all 3 passengers are sitting. No ear AC, front 4 AC vents are inclined and hard to focus to the rear seat passengers..No GPS, not electronic stability on shock absorbers, no side lens projector White HID head lamps, no turning head lamps, fog light is same as swift has, poor ineffective. Very little storage at boot.
Tyre mounting on back door I am sure with Indian road condition after some time door hinges become loose as an additional 20 kg load is always on back door. And it’s become a headache of noise pollution. No auto head lamps, no rain sensing wipers, no daylight LED’s.
I over all I cancelled the booking in July 2013, and thanks to Ford dealer her turned my advance money fatty one year of course without interest.
