I booked Ecosport just after launch on 7 July at Harpreet Ford, Motinagar, Delhi.
I was told by a sweet as sugar salesman that you’ll get the car in Oct end. I followed up many times and every time they kept postponing the delivery date.
Initially they said November, then they said December and now they are saying March. Now I don’t really trust them and I don’t know when I’ll get the car. Not sure whether I’ll get the car within 2014.
All I know is that Ford knew that there will be major delays but still kept on taking bookings and kept on promising to people that they’ll get delivery within 4-5 months just to get initial Rs 50, 000 booking amount, earn interest from it and hold customers to ransom.
It has been a real problem for me to travel to office daily. I spend 4 hours in commuting(by public transport) daily which should have taken not more than 2 hours had I got my car. It is affecting my health also and I’m now thinking of cancelling the booking and buying another car.
If they had honestly told me that they wouldn’t be able to give me the car in 2013, I would have bought some other car and it would have saved me a lot of trouble. In addition they also increased the price of my model by Rs 50, 000 which is also effective on customers who booked the car before price hike. **Friends, whoever is thinking of buying Ecosport please don’t fall prey to tactics of Ford.
* Whatever their promises, I’m pretty confident that they will not deliver the car in next 2 years. And within that time God knows how many times they’ll increase the price.
