Hi Friends,
I purchased the New Ford Figo(Diesel) on October 2012. The colour is Blue and we waited almost 1.5 months to catch hold of this vehicle. I zeroed in on Figo after looking at the various reviews - there werent much negative about Figo when compared to other cars.
It has been almost 2 years now I have driven it for 35, 000 kms. Below is my quick experience for the benefit of those who are planning to buy Figo:
BTW, this is my 8th car(starting with Esteem, Omni, Indica[Diesel], Alto, Innova[Petrol], Wagon R, Nano)
- Mileage: City - 15 to 16.5
Highway - 20(if driven in the eco zone) - 18(if driven around 100 to 120)
Suspension: Comfortable, but feels a bit hard
Interior: I had purchased EXI model and I had fitted Music System(with Bluetooth) from Ford - The sound quality is damn good. Seats are fantastic and the passengers do not feel tired even after clocking 400 kms in a day.
Speed: I generally drive-in between 80 to 100 on highways but occassionally I touch 130.(My kids say to me why I am driving so slow; whilst the speedometer says 100) That is the feeling you get on Highways.
In city; I find the clutch a bit hard to use.most of the people say it is a good city car, but I say Figo is a good Highway Car.
Brakes are very good and it will never let you down during sudden braking.
Service: I always serviced at Lathangi Ford Bengaluru and did not had any issues with them. Like all other cars, the Service Charges come around 3000-5000(oils, filters, alignment, balancing, Interior Special Washing, etc)
Space: Best in Class! Best fit for 2-3 days trip with 4 adults. 5th person is a bit cramped - but that is true with other cars as well:-(
Cons:
Looking at other cars(in the reviews), I feel that the mileage is 2-3 kms less than them
You need to really slow down during humps.
Not sure why this car is underrated by some of the folks - while actually this is the VFM car in the market today. This will affect me when I plan to sell this in the second hand market.
Thanks and hope this was useful for you,
