Hope u are all having gr8 fun out here in MS.Did a lot of R & D, read soo many reviews, user reviews in so many different auto web sites etc before deciding on Figo. It was interesting an painstaking.The initial list had I10, Santro, Spark, Chevrolet U-Va, Beat, Ford Figo, Ford Ikon, Tata Manza, Tata Indigo CS, Alto, Swift and Polo.
Finally I ventured to Test Drive Figo, Beat, I10, Swift and Polo.
Beat:
Liked : Liked it for its looks initially seeing it in ads. Nice features at competitive price.Must say that Beat’s launch is the starting point for cost competitiveness among other cars.
Dint Like : Dint feel as good when I saw it in Real.Beat’s rear(very tight and claustrophobic in the rear seat, cant accomodate 3rd person) and boot space(very small) and also to some extent ride quality(higher dash gives less clear visibility). The dash board extends till gear rod and does not provide much room to the left of driver.
Swift
Liked :Looks but after TD, dint feel gr8.
Dint like: the rear seat comfort , build quality(average), ride quality wasn’t as good as Figo/Polo/I10. I felt it was a lil light and dint give me a great feeling while driving. Almost 1.6 lakh Rs higher on road compared to Figo.music was breaking everytime I met with a hump .is this is only in the Test Drive car. No newness.
Polo: ride and handling were very good.Looks;people say its looks are excellent and blah blah.But, I dint find any startling differences between polo and other hatches, to be honest.
Dint Like:1.5 lakhs higher on road , compared to similar featured version in Figo.A big tunnel(hump) in the middle of rear seat makes it very congested in the rear Noheadroom in rear.Base version is only in 2 colours.dash board extending till gearbox causes inconvenience.waiting period of 6 months
I10:
Liked:ride quality was very good.Build quality was OK
Dint Like : Honestly speaking, there wasn’t much I disliked about this car.Though, I felt that it’s a small car for 4 people.Not as spacious as Figo.Rear seat is more comfortable in Figo and can accommodate 3 persons with ease.Price wise, comparing, I10 sportz and Figo 1.2 ZXI(with a few differences here and there), I10 is abt 48~50k costlier on road in Bangalore. there is no newness with it.
Figo:
Like:Looks are decent(subjective, though not a head turner as some may opine) Ride quality and handling was very good. Front/rear visibity from driver’s seat is very good. The interiors are very refreshing. I liked the interiors the very first time I saw them in an e-brochure.There is a lot of newness and sportiness with the dash board with two color options(Coral Red and Ebony Black) in ZXi and Titanium versions.I read in many reviews that Coral red dash was not many people’s favourite, but I liked it for its sportiness and is refreshingly different compared to the plain boring and dull grey/black/cream coloured dash’es. The coral dash would go well with Black exterior, I feel. For others, Ebony black dash is another option.Must mention that it is far more comfortable and spacious in the rear seat of Figo compared all others.There is enough space to accommodate 3 people in the rear comfortably.It feels far more spacious, comfortable and airy inside Figo front and rearcompared to others.Boot space is the best in its class with a capacity of 284lts.
Best in class AC with largest compressor (150cc) in its class.Other useful features include the Bluetooth supported music system, Distance to empty etc.Once you pair your Bluetooth enabled mobile to the music player, you can access Mobile phonebook, call logs, make/receive calls, see sms on the music system display while driving.One can also play songs from his mobile on the music system without any cable using this Bluetooth interface.Build quality and finish is good.Price wise, Figo’s price is similar to Beat but abt 60-70k lesser than I10, about 1.4laks lesser than Swift, abt 1.5 laks lesser than Polo with comparable features.lack of rear power windows/windows rolling down only abt 70% were not so significant for me.
Considering all aspects, Figo is perfect blend of all these, a great value for money and a complete package for a family as against others which cater to some aspects and compromise on other aspects (for e.g. boot space etc). So, I finally Booked Figo 1.2 Zxi Black with coral red dash on 17 May and waiting eagerly for the delivery.see u soon with a detailed ownership review.
