Its really true, how people run behind, the three W’s of life Wealth, Wine and Women but its really hard to find anyone who is content with only one of these. Forrest Gump is movie were it will touch the emotions of anyone.
There are some breeds of actor in Hollywood who can’t perform better than Tom Hanks. Give him anything, he will come out winner. Take his Oscar win in Philadelphia or his super class performance in Forrest Gump. No one could have performed better.
The story…
The story starts with a adult Tom Hanks (Forrest Gump) sitting in a bench and telling a stranger his life story. Forrest has been born with a low IQ (75) but his mother and her childhood sweetheart Jenny (Robin Wright) conveniences him that he is as good as his other school mates, but their school mates always try to trouble him in every possible way. But Forrest had an edge over the others as he was athletically he was strong and when the movie progresses you can see that what ever he does, he excels in it.
He plays ping-pong once and really likes to play and gets a chance to go to China. Whatever you tell FG and he does it.
Gen Dan & FG
He grows up and joins the army. He is sent to the Vietnam war where he saves the life of General Dan Taylor, but for some reason Dan is not happy and he thinks that Forrest has done mistake by saving his life because his father had died in the war field and he wanted to die their. Gen Dan is crippled as he looses his leg and accuses Forrest for it. But the movie is so well made the emotions between the Gen Dan and FG is really well captured. Some how Gen Dan starts liking FG and he spends time and share ideology with him. FG is such characters were he does whatever his mom or his sweetheart or Gen dan says.
In the entire movie the FG’s character is such that he is content with the life he has got and he never gets offended for anything. Its important that you don’t miss the silent humour of the movie where each and every dialogue has got a new meaning.
FG becomes a millionaire and he gives all the money to Gen Dan, this shows how content he is with life but that’s how they have shown the character. There is one scene where he says that he has been called to sign some fruit company, but when the fruit company was shown, you know what it is; it’s the Apple Corporation. Imagine, how they have characterised the person like FG. Absolutely marvellous.
FG & Childhood sweetheart
He loves her the most. Jenny played by Robin Wright likes FG but somehow she wants to be a hippie and goes around with guys taking drugs and having sex with god knows many people. Finally she comes back one day to FG she has sex with him and goes the next day without saying anything to FG. This brings FG’s life in standstill and he doesn’t know what to do and starts running and running and he keeps on running for 3 years day in and day out. In this turn he gets fame and people start running behind him, some one asks him why are you running and he responds, “I don’t know, I just feel like running “ . After 3 years of running suddenly he stops in the middle of the road and starts walking back and the people behind him are stunned what happened why has he stopped he says, he is tired. Amazing.
The movie is shown where he is narrating his past sitting in a bench. This is were he asks the person the address of a place where Jenny had called him to meet. When he see his Jenny he is so happy that she introduces him to a kid(Haley Joel Osment from sixth sense) and tells him that the kid is of FG. She names him Forrest too and the question he asks his, “Is he smart” Jenny marries FG but she dies of Aids.
Again, I am telling don’t miss the dialogues, its got its own meaning and charm.
This is were the lord of master acting has excelled like anything. The look on his face still brings Goosebumps all over my body. Amazing piece of acting, the emotions delivered still brings water into my eyes. What a class acting
Technology
Every body knows about his shake of hands and his interacting with President Nixon. Even the crippled leg of Gen Dan is being neatly cut off.
Music
Great melodious and soft songs.
Conclusion
Don’t miss the movie for any reason. If I had been the jury member of Oscars, I would have give Tom Hanks double Oscar. The way he has modulated the voice and his dialogue delivery is absolutely splendid. No one in Hollywood can come close to Tom Hanks take it Philadelphia or Big or Apollo 13 or Forrest Gump. No doubt one of the best movies of my life. I got a chance on the HBO to watch it again and revive my memory.

Maybe it’s both happening at the same time
Such kinds of dialogues and phrases really makes you think about the life’s prospective and feel the urge that how a man can depend on the destiny or taking chances in life. GO ahead watch this movie..
