We will never get our Shiv Brahm back.

Khair main pyasa raha par usne itna to kiya, meri palqon ki qataron ko wo paani de gaya. I am referring to Esc*rts Hospital, Faridabad-now Fortis.

We were expecting a baby (even named Shiv Brahm) on February, 2005. The gynecologist was also our known person and this was the best hospital in Faridabad. Everything was really fit and fine and I used to sing songs for my baby.

We excitedly visited the hospital for delivery of our baby. They said that there is a little complication. Then the gynecologist called me in and shouted in anger "Kya karte ho-we have lost the baby". The world turned topsy-turvy. I said everything was normal as per your report. She shouted "Don’t play games". Wow would a shocked father play a game?

The truth was that the umbilical cord was wrapped 3 times around the neck of the baby. Ultrasound was also "Professionally" done but only for AFI, the scope of which was undisclosed. I was never allowed to enter and see the baby’s activity. Even a layman can see an umbilical cord if any.

The doctor casually asked the other one-why did I ask for AFI? Other said "I don’t know". When they don’t know that there is a problem how could they save my baby. The radiologist must have seen that at least 21 days ago but she was so PROFESSIONAL she must not have told the doctor about that.

Insight into the Escrts Management. They favored treating Escrts employees first, we had to sit and wait 4-6 hours for every checkup. Their were 100-200 patients per doctor so they were not able to give individual attention. Further, other Esc*rts plants in Faridabad were on the verge of shutdown and the hospital staff was also dis-organizationally overloaded.

My wife was in shock and deep anguish and depression for 2 years till we had a baby girl after the hospital was taken over by Fortis. They charge more money but give better individual attention. But the memories of Shiv-Brahm still haunts us.

He had so sweet pink lips which were open as if wanting to say something. His left eye had popped out with swollen red color when I picked him up-a distress line on his eyebrows as if hanged.

When I come across photos of Mrs and Mr Nanda, I am sure this was never the hospital they had envisioned and their souls must be weeping that their noble vision was ruined by the corrupt management that time.

My advice to youngsters-

Doctors can only tell the facts and do the required mechanical process-you have to take care and manage the whole process.
