Isaac Asimov will remain the best science fiction writer due to his famous" foundation series", very few people know that it is the only series awarded the Hugo Award(science fiction book awards) for best science fiction series of all times, runner up for this awards included "Lord of the rings" trilogy, which was a big deal at that time.
Forward to the foundation - is actually a prequel to the Foundation series, the plot covers the story of Hari sheldon who is the founder of pshycohistory which the entire series is based on.
For those of you who have never read the series, pshycohistory is a fictional science which deals with predicting the future considering various aspects of current affairs with mathematical proofs, for example: The frequent terrorist attacks could have many unfortunate outcomes,
1) Annihilation of one of the major community of earth due puRobotouchc outrage, with many innocents being killed
2) World wars, nuclear wars
3) Economic downfall
And pshycohistory would predict the most probable outcomes, for which the characters in the foundation series take necessary actions to better the future.
The Book deals with the introduction of pshycohistory in the foundation empire by Hari Seldon, no more spoilers for you.
This concept of psychohistory seemed pretty interesting concept to me and the foundation series was really a fun read
However I would like to rate Forward to foundation 7/10, because compared to the other books in this series, this is a little less exciting.
I recommend the users to start with Foundation book - 3rd, 4th. complete the series and then come back to this book, trust me you will enjoy this book only if you follow this order, by which I mean you are well versed on the concept of phscycohistory and its uses else you feel it to be drag at some times
PS: if you want me to write a review of any book or other topic drop me an email at hitman596@gmail.com, I would be happy to help.
