I am a movie buff and I like to spend my free time watching movies. Hindi movies have become a waste of time and money since these days they don’t have any new and interesting plots, with the same old love stories fare. So these days I like to watch English movies and the new genre of Hinglish movies. My interest in Hinglish movie started from the very beginning I saw the movie Bombay Boys. It increased with good movies like Bend it Like Beckham, Guru and Hollywood Bollywood. So I don’t miss any Hinglish movies these day and due to that I planned to see the movie Freaky Chakra. Shakuntulam is the theatre that suits my budget as I see too many movie per month. So I went to see the afternoon show.
The movie Freaky Chakra, has a tagline ’A Rectangular Love Story’ so I was expecting something fabulous, something interesting as I sat there to see another Hinglish movie. But to my dismay it is one of the most boring Hinglish movie I have ever seen. The story revolved around Mrs Thomas, a doctor, telling us about how lonely and short tempered she was due to her loneliness. She left her profession as a doctor as she could not save her husband from the heart attack and he died. The movie start with a sutra dhar...a VJ, narrating the story. There were so many repeated scenes of Mrs. Thomas howling on the watchman, that clearly depicted that the director has nothing more to offer. Most of the scene’s were repeated. There was no sign of any plot in the movie. The repeated scene of that sick person who calls Mrs. Thomas in the night and comes at her doorstep reduces the pace of the movie. It feels that the scene are coming one after the other without any change in the content.
Then once fine day this lad somehow bumped into Mrs. Thomas and don’t know why????? He wanted to be a Paying Guest. He followed her and called her at night and at one instance she says yes and than the young boy packs the bags and landed at her home. Ok now the real scenes started. The only interesting part of the movies. There were few good songs at this point and it seemed as if the plot is going to build up. But them there was a phone call and without any reason or explanation Mrs. Thomas throws that young lad out of his home.
The movie ended with all the people running behind the sutradhar, leaving the audience puzzled. What Happened...????The movie is over but where is the story ...LOL The movie was a wastage of money and thank god I did’nt watched it in PVR.
Even after the movie ended, I could not make out where was the RECTANGULAR LOVE STORY. There was no plot in the movie. And there was no explanation of anything going out in the movie.
Deepti Naval and other actors were good at their job and the songs were good But there should be some story also, around which a movie could be made.
I suggest you friends to avoid the movie and SAVE MONEY.
