A Friend Hater?

I was half afraid to write this review after seeing that 91% people rated it as must watch. I was wondering whether my tastes are just old plain fashioned but hey this siet is about airing frank review so what the heck . I though I should air what I feel strongly about.

This review is not about the characters or picturization or about the technicalities. This review is about the kind of humour being used.

I find the humour in the serial pretty below the belt , slapstick kind. The episodes free play upon the words which are normally spoken in very hushed hushed tones even in indian bedrooms.

Here mention of such words is done to evoke a few laughs. Larger question is that what kind of entertainment is that. What kind of impression these serials create on the minds of the young. IS thi sserial suited for Indians? Are we mature enough to understand the nuances of sex and sexuality ? When we laugh at a below the belt comment do we really understand the staement made. I guess lot of teenagers today are watching this serial because of peer pressure.

There is certain status associated with watching hip-hop Engglish serials. It is in vogue to watch and discuss these serials. Is this a healthy trend. Can this be called clean situational comedy? I think not.
