Following up on the results of public opinion polls and focus groups, NBC has announced that ’’Friends’’ will feature a cast of nothing but monkeys next season.
’’We had such good ratings the season Ross had that monkey, we were really left with no choice’’, commented an NBC programming head who chose not to be identified.
Possible locations from which the monkeys will come include Singapore, Malaysia, the Galapagos Islands, and Chillicothe, IL.
This follows several consecutive years of declining ratings for the show one NBC exec described as ’’The Real Show About Nothing’’. NBC expects to save over $10 million by employing monkeys in the Friends roles.
