About an hour into fukrey returns honey one of the four-fukrey craze solemnly declares sabi jesus summer joy is the returning I felt like he was direct messaging me because honestly I just didn’t get this film and I don’t mean that I missed the subtext or any of the overarching philosophy.i actually couldn’t follow the plot here’s what I understood we’re one year after the events of the last film the four fukrey race honey, lollies, afarid, chuja are doing well but then the fiery bholi punjaban, who they helped put in jail gets out and all hell breaks loose there’s also a corrupt minister. who controls delhi’s lottery dens a tiger and her cub an underground khazana a rival chief minister to girlfriend’s chuja’s premonitions an organ selling operation and 10 crores scam that is the fukrey inflict on the gullible delhilwala through all this ali fazal and I had the same fixed expression absolute bewilderment.
Fukrey returns feels like a good characters in search of story, director deep singh lamba who wrote the film with people big creates some laugh out loud moments.mostly around chuja’s played by varun sharma and panditji played by the terrific pankaj tripati.tripati droll expression and his delivery of choice english style dialogue is consistently funny .there’s also some fun tobe had with boli and her foreign henchmen who don’t understand her instructions.so she must translate mithika tale as oil of mud but this much pretty much as good as it gets the rest of of it is disjointed scene stitched together in haphazard fashion .the first film was a genial romp about honey lolly and choocha desperately trying to get into a cool college .rigdeep the accurately captured a theater of the absurd in east delhi but fukrey returns offers little that’s new because choocha and boli.were the most interesting characters in the first film thr second leans too hard on them the othets except panditji barely make an impression and the lovely song ambersariya is used again.fukrey returns soon desepates into exhausting foolishness there are scenes which features snake bites on buts .which reminded me of another film with snake bites on buts.the singurely overful great grand masti.thinking about which me even more tired but I like these characters they’re fun and endering and I really hope rigdeep finds a better way to use them.
