I posted a complaint in Ford India customer care, India, and all I got back till date is an automated reply that “Your concern number is 800055405”!
My friends and well wishers all told me not to buy a ford. I didnt listen. And now I suffer for that. Just 2-3 days after I took the test drive, on 14th Feb 2014 I wrote a confirmation email to my dealer ordering a ford figo Exi petrol, mars red as my sales person from Ganges ford, kolkata advised that the car will be dispatched soon after the confirmation mail. Within a week on 20 Feb I paid Rs 10, 000 as token advance. I was disappointed to hear from my salesperson that because of my colour preference of Mars Red, I will face a delay in delivery and will get the figo towards the second half of march. As I am not willing to change my colour preference, I decided to wait. March ended, but I did not hear anything from Ganges ford. After following up, I received a call that my car will be delivered on 6-7 April. Since I didnt hear an update from Ganges ford I called them again and heard that there will be further delay and they will be able to give me a new date by tomorrow.
This time they stuck to their word. Every day when I didnt receive a call and I called back, all I heard was I will get an update tomorrow. Tomorrow never came. Also I got variety of reasons for delay like Mars Red is produced in batches and will only reach me after a batch will get over, nobody takes a ford in the month of ‘Chaitra’, I have been billed incorrectly and needs to be revised and even there is fire at the workshop! Also, the price of figo has been decreasing since my booking.
Is this a joke? If you cant deliver a Mars red figo within 2 month of booking, why do you spend so much on its advertisement all over? If you dont know by when you would be able to deliver, why do you make all false commitments at the time of booking? Why do you not bother to provide an update by yourself if there is a delay?
