Gangotri Is one of the pilgrim of "choto Char Dhaam" in Uttrakhand. It is popularly known for origin place of river Ganga but it is not true. Actually it is a first place in the bank of river Ganga. Ganga originates from Gomukh which is 16 km far from Gangatori. Here Ganga is known as "Bhagirathi".
How to reach Ganogotri-
During Yatra season( April to September) you can easily get direct buses and cabs from Haridwar for Gangotri.
You can do trekking from Gangotri to Gomukh Glacier and there is also a strenuous trek for Badrinath which is so difficult because it is full of snow and glaciers.
Hotels and rest houses are easily accessible in Gangotri.
