Hotel garden treat in Santa Cruz (e), the best place for college guys.
What I mean is MIG economy class......
Gives you every penny worth of your pocket money. Don’t expect any hot shot service with refreshing towels when you arrive and steaming hot plates when you dine.
But what makes this hotel special? Is the assortment of side dishes that they offer you with a glass of beer?
A word of caution....
Remember you have to act pro and tell the waiter to serve the complimentary first. Because as any smart waiter will do they tend to forward you the starters menu first. So you land up ordering something to go with your drinks and they do not serve the whole flotilla .... Sometime there is not any space on table to keep the extra plates
But... hold back ....an they will start serving the free ......!!! Stuff.
It’s just 2 much, all in all, there are 7 different items served and unlimited too..
Small batata vada and samosas being on top of the chart...
Boiled chana
farsan/sheviya
green salad ( the usual cucumber and carrot) with cat masala
papad
spicy moong dal
now the last dish that they used to serve was interesting
shallow fried garlic ....!!!! ( tastes good try it.. and you know it is said that garlic kills cholesterol.. so eating garlic really helps your conscious to overcome the guilt of abusing your body with lot of alcohol )
all this ..... just keeps coming.... no need to order any extra starters or food for the matter of fact. I stay in the area and I have introduced this joint to many of my friends and all of them took to it instantaneously...
the place is good just hop skip and jump away from Santa Cruz station... it may be confusing but they have ample parking space at the back you just have to go around the hotel to parking lot and you may use the back entrance to get in.
quite some nooks and corners if you just want to sit with pals and conjure up skim or prank to throw out your professor in the next maths class.
coming back to other nuts and bolts... the ambience is ok nothing great...
oh.. the large and beautiful fish tank plenty of fish to give you company if you are drinking alone...
food is great as long as you keep it simple.... dont expect some jazzy and terrific dishes. but what they serve is good and simple veg - non veg food.
the place slightly inside so mostly overlooked so not much of a crowd only regulars.
You need not insure booking... has small play ground to keep your children out of the way..
service is good with good old experienced waiters.. who know when to serve... but a bit pushy.. I may say...
But to sum it up all...
Best chakna with beer....!!!!!!!!!!!
