The Scary House!

I went to the scary house yesterday!

Its a haunted two storied house and going calling there was quite an experience.....I came out short of breath, panting, red faced and glad to be in one piece!

Let me put the context in place first; this house is the recent addition to Garuda Mall, built right next to the enterance to the Inox Theatres. The last time I went watched a movie there, I noticed an interesting structure...an old wooden house with a lantern and a old rusted set of keys hanging in front......hmmmm looked quite out of place...but very interesting ! On asking someone there I found out that this was the ’Scary House’ to be opened in 2 days. One could take a tour of the house and get cheap thrills!

How scary could it be ? and come on im no longer a kid and I dont believe in ghosts and hey its something different. Yesterday me and a friend (who also works with me) decided to bunk work and take a long lunch break. Of late our work has been boring the hell out of us and we are starved of stimulation and excitement...so we headed for the scary house! Bought the 30 rupee ticket and stood in a long line that led to the house. It seemed that we were the only women there...the rest were all teenage boys (bunking school/college)... after a while we started feeling a bit funny...what the hell are we doing here!!!!! but hey ...this was something new in town and should be crazy....

Suddenly the door of the hose opened and out came people screeming...they looked genuinely scared...and thats when I remembered that I am basically a chicken at heart.....and this no longer seemed fun..... the place was indeed scary!

Meghala and me looked at each other but were too proud to back out now..... as we reached the creaky door, a man in a black overcoat and hat took our tickets....there were 6 of us...all girls who were shoved into that house.

Well its so predictable, I thought when I saw the typical ’haunted house ’ setting..a photograph on the wall with blood dripping , low lighting, cob webs, and a constant low mourning. Ha I said to myself...hardly scary.....but it was just the beggining.

The caretaker was with us and he told us to climb a flight of stairs...then vanished...It was then that wierd and strange things started happening . as we climbed the stairs in total darkness suddenly a woman ponced on us.....then a dead body fell off a bed.. My throat hurt with all the screaming that I didnt even realise I was doing!. The woman behind me caught hold of my hair and started pulling it ( I wondered if it was part of the drama but later realised that she was so scared that she didnt know what she was doing) I had held on to Meghala who was right in front ....taking cautious steps ..the turns were specially scary...we never knew what would be around the corner. I almost had a heart attack when at one corner a woman’s scary voice whispered into my ear! The scariest was when we reached the end.....walking huddled next to each other we moved along a narrow passage and then came our caretaker telling us to take the left and then the right..we did as he said and saw a door which Meg tried openining with all her might...it wouldnt budge and then a window opened a a head popped out...... eeeeeeee!

God! it was getting too much. I could hear my heatbeat in my ears....the lady was tugging even harder at my hair....Holy cow! we had to get out!....we ran the other way and there lying down on a bed was a man who leapt at us and almost killed us...as we huddled against the wall..........

Then lots of dead people cornered us and finally we were pushed out.......

We emerged out looking quite ghastly....

And I tied my hair and stared at the lady who had been pulling it. I refrained from saying anything when I saw her pale face and sheepish smile. We managed to compose ourselves. Everone was sniggering at us and our expressions as we came out! We then took the escalator down and got back to work!
