I took some time off from work to visit Fabindia store in Garuda mall to buy a plain white churidar bottom. Well, it so happened that after buying I realised the size wasn’t correct. So I took out the garment and was showing it to the salesgirls, asking for the right sized garment for me.
Accidentally, the garment got mixed up with the rest of the clothes. Anyway, I went to a lady at the counter who seemed to be an authority around the place and who seemed to be just filling in for the cash guys who’d gone off for a bit. I told her the problem, showing her the bill and telling her that it was my mistake and since the bill was so current could she please trace it back and let me take the right desired garment.
SHe was extremely rude, nearly yelling at me. I was shocked. I asked her to be precise and tell me what I should do. She continued to be offensive. Finally, I told them to keep it and leaving the bill with them too, I walked out of the store. A couple of minutes later, a boy from the office came after me, gave me the garment and apologised. Most of the staff at Fabindia Mall are not very soft-spoken, but this lady’s attitude had me floored. What a great seller! Let this be a warning.
