I recently visited Gautam Budha University(GBU), situated in Greater Noida area of NCR, where my niece is studying. It is often being confused with GBTU, which is just an affiliating institution. I saw the GBU has a sprawling and vast gated campus with modern and well sculpture building and class rooms.
It provides degree in UG and PG courses in various disciplines. It also runs dual degree programmes in Engineering, Management and Law. Physical infrastructure wise this is the 2nd largest University of Uttar Pradesh. Class rooms are well designed in and equipped with modern teaching instruments. This is a fully residential university and charges are as high as the private educational institutions. However, no capitation fee is charged and admissions are made totally on the basis of entrance test and merits. In short, all infrastructural facilities like hostel and fooding are available in the campus itself.
The weakest point of the University is its faculty position. There are very few regular faculties. Most of the classes are run by guest faculty members. On this front, it requires to recruit regular and dedicated faculties. After all it is far better than any other private institutions, as there is no hidden charge on any account and hence preferred one.
