I am a woman and to me there is nothing worse than seeing some one with make-up on so thick that they have made themselves look worse instead of better.
I wear make-up only on rare occasions. If you eat right, get the proper sleep and take care of your skin with cleansing it will have a natural glow to it that doesnt require a blush or heavy face powder.
If you have oily skin you may need a light dusting of face powder only to keep the shine of the oil off. Always pick a color that is as close to your natural skin color as possible so it looks like you are not wearing any.
A little clear gloss or very light colored one on your lips is really all you need.
Keep your eyebrows shaped and neatly plucked and maybe just a touch of eye make-up lightly done if you for example have thin eyelashes you may want some mascara to make them look fuller, or a light shadow to bring out the color of your eyes.
I myself think a woman looks nicer when she is as natural as can be. You will look the same upon waking up as you do all day long.
There are times that make-up can make you look bad. For example in very humid weather if you are not careful your make-up can run and streak and really make a mess. If you are going some where say to a farewell party, a wedding or a funeral where you are apt to cry the less make-up on your eyes the better or it makes a real mess and makes it look like you have been in a fight.
Also for those romantic times I really dont think a man wants make-up that rubs off on his clothing or his skin.
So let your natural beauty shine through as much as possible and see if you dont get compliments.
If you do wear make-up make sure it is right for you. For example my mom always wore bright red lipstick so when I first started wearing some I chose bright red. I am very fair skinned and it did not look good on me at all so take your skin tone into consideration when picking out make-up and just touches of it to accent features is all you need.
