I am not against wearng makeup. All I want to express is that all of us have different personalities, and we should be careful in wearing make-up that enhances our natural features like shape of eyes, color of hair, length of hair our figure etc. We should not make the mistake of wearing extra makeup with the belief that it enhances our personality or appeal.
One also needs to keep in mind to "dress for the occassion". I would prefer to wear a saree or an elegant salwar suit for any formal get together and would prefer to keep my hair open. If I need to be at a disco, my attire and make-up would be different, perhaps jeans or a capri with a top. At home I would like to wear slightly more comfortable dress, with least amount of any face creams etc and may wear my hair in two ponytails.
I have witnesses so many ladies wearing makeup to move their complexion up on the fairness tree. Wheatish skin or even duller skin is as great to have as fair skin.
Most of the FMCG companies have been trying to bank on the age old Indian belief the fairer is better. We need to grow out of that. Sorry, FMCG companies, but thats the reality. I am not the one to splurge on cosmetics just because they are there in the market. Our personality is something that we maintain from within, and we may want to keep our character clean to look more beautiful.
