Want service - don't buy samsung a.cs.

I bought a samsung a.c. three years back (god help me for having made this mistake). some time back, it stopped cooling and I logged a complaint with their call center, who promptly told me that some one will visit me within 24 hours.


What they did not realize was that samsung’s 24 hours actually translate into five working days. this, after the customer keeps contacting their call center everyday religiously, to find out whether the period of 24 hours is over yet, or not.


It actually took samsung service technician five days to reach my house. he was already aware that the gas in the a.c. had leaked and that it needed to be taken to their service center.


It took me another ten days of calling the call center everyday, to find out when my a.c. will be returned to me. the sweltering heat made my family members curse me for having bought such a product, for whose service there is no other source, and samsung service leaves a lot to be desired.


On day fifteen, I called up the call center and fired them left and right and demanded to speak to a senior person. i, for the fifteenth time, repeated my woes to the manager of the call center, who must have managed to put some sense into the supervisor at the service center, because I finally received a telephone call from the supervisor to tell me that my a.c. was ready and being loaded into the three wheeler for being delivered back to me.


I asked him whether the front panel, which was also not working, had been repaired. he told me that the part required for the purpose was not available, but he will endure that it gets replaced on 8th i.e. a day after the day of election in delhi. Believe me, though the a.c. arrived, it took me another many days of calling and abusing these people, before they brought the necessary part and replaced it.


the story does not end here. on 21st july, 2009 i.e. this very month, the a.c. went on blink again. I lodged a complaint no. 8403014527 at 10:40 in the morning. again, I had to tell myself that samsung’s 24 hours are somewhat looooooong and do not end the next day. a telephone call on each of the next three days did not result into any visit, or a telephone call from samsung - call center, or service center, to tell me as to what is happening about my complaint.


i have, finally, told the call center people to cancel my complaint and register me as another of their dis-satisfied customers. I have also told them that in case I am unable to find a third party to repair this a.c., I will throw it away.


so people, if you do not wish to develop hypertension, heart ailments, blood pressure etc. etc., kindly stay away from samsung a.cs. they may (i said may) give good cooling, that is if you are lucky, but if you expect them to provide you service, you may be expecting tooooooooo much from them.
