AIs their really any choice??Am a Tata sky subscriber for last 5 weeks, my overall experience has been mixed, bad installation and good product. Refer to my review on the same.
While browsing through mouth shut, I read reviews on Tata Sky and Dish TV and also one on Cable STB. According to mouth shut, as of today, only 64% of the review writers recommended the Tata sky. The figure is very poor for a company which belongs to the Tata group which is known for their sincerity.
Now, look at the recommendation ratio of Dish TV, just 27%. i.e. only 27% of the review writers on Dish TV recommend the product. This figure is also pathetic since this also comes from a reputed group of ZEE.
Even the review writer on the Cable STB is not satisfied with the product he has got.
If you read the reviews, you will find that almost all the customers who are not happy are primarily due to bad service and response of the company to their problems. Very few of them actually complained about the features of the product per se.
Now, in all the metros, a specific area is converted to CAS notified area in which a regular cable service is out and customer has to go for either one of the 3 mentioned above. But is their actually any choice available for customer? A customer has to venture into any of these and keep his figures crossed to be lucky enough. There are n numbers of customers who are not satisfied and companies are taking them for ride for many many days. Whats the option available when all the companies are capable of creating mess? Apparently none.
When a customer is shelling out certain money on a certain product, he expects a quality (of product and service) which is promised. And as the Indian market is evolving companies are also striving hard to keep their customers happy so that they can be retained for longer duration and deliver profits. Nothing wrong with this, obviously, the objective of all the businesses is profit. But then, where is the problem? Any company will have very strong customer oriented policies, the problem is of execution. Companies don’t realize how important and critical the execution is. A fantastic product can fail if the sales man does not smile while selling it. Let’s take example of Tata sky – I am sure any customer will understand that a technical product can malfunction any time. But what a customer expects from the company when his product is not working - a prompt response and service on time and with desired quality. Is it that difficult to deliver?
When ever I call up any customer care for any service, I expect a deadline which should be adhered to. Is it that difficult for any reputed company? You set a deadline with an extra margin of 2 days and then adhere to it. If you are overshooting the deadline, inform the customers, is it too difficult to do? But what we actually get when you call up any customer care, a plastic politeness and fake promises, why can’t companies train the people and set systems straight? Is it that difficult to do?
I don’t know the answer, only the reputed companies will know, but what I know that customer will never go back to you if you can’t keep him satisfied, and will not deliver your profits, and is that not what you work for? Think.
