BAD CREDIT AND CELL PHONES

I’m a person who is working hard to rebuild my credit.I purchased a Tracfone so I could have cellular service. I’m tired of paying $.35-.59 per minute so I tried to get a cell phone service plan. I went through Voicestream, T-Moble Cellular One and Sprint who all provide service in my area.

I chose plans that were between $19.99-29.99 per month a $25-35 activation fee and a free phone. I could not find one service that would give me the deals that they offer. They all increased their activation fees to $50-75. They would not give me a free phone. They were all going to charge me $30-60 for the phone. Also they would not give me the rate plan that I wanted.

They all offered me a plan for $39.99. You would think that if they were going to give service to someone with bad or so-so credit they would give you a cheaper but know  you have to take a plan that cost more. When I said something to them about this the general comment back is that they would review my account in six months and maybe I would qualify for the plan I wanted. They could not give me a reason why they would charge me for the same phone that they gave free for those with good credit. Is this credit discrimination?
