Friends -Its been 9 years since I have been driving a CNG Kit Fitted Car(Factory Version) and I must say that until the next easy peasy option that may roll out for the Indian Automobile Industry its by far the most economical and safe mode to a clean, eco friendly fuel option for your car.
Here am about to tell you how to optimize your CNG especially in winters which is fast approaching.
Vital Factors:
During winters never keeping your car in an idling mode or for that mater never ever, its the cause for not only eating into your fuel consumption but causing silent -screaming damage that may have never crossed your mind.
Open Car windows, Turn off air-conditioning - taillights, head lamps before pressing on the control in CNG Car when starting up, allow engine to run for a minimum of 2 minutes before actually moving forward
Check CNG Pressure Gauge levels for any signs of discrepancy
Make sure the vehicle is set on auto fuel mode
Check spark plugs more often
Ensure to park your CNG vehicle in a cool, shady place as often as possible
Be as smooth as possible when driving a CNG vehicle, any excess friction when changing gears and clutch control can possibly cause a leak - such is the flip side!
In winters ensure to first switch on the high beam head lights for at least a minutes before turning on the engine
Air filter is more often a feature one needs to change generously in a CNG Vehicle to keep it clean and tidy
Ensure to keep the vehicle light when on long trips - Discard excess overloading vehicle
Last but not the least - CNG vehicle are much safer to drive than Gasoline vehicle, s reason being its less combustible than most other fuels though, it stores its self under high pressure, the chances of flammability and combustion is next to zero and is easy peasy on health risks thanks to its Eco friendly measures.
The only draw back as of now is the long wait during refueling!
