2 big fresh water crabs (live ones). You can hand pick them at any fish market.Freeze for 30 minutes. Cut, clean and wash well. Retain all portions of the claws.
500 grams chopped onions (large)
10 cloves of garlic finely chopped.
Freshly ground black pepper corns (10)
2 split green chillies
salt to taste
1 tablespoon of olive or any light oil
Half cup of water
Heat the water in an earthen pot. Add onions and cook till it becomes soft but not over cooked.
Add pepper, garlic, salt and the chillies. mix well and cook for further 3 minutes.
Now transfer the crab pieces in to the pot and simmer for 30 minutes under low fire.
Garnish with mint and cinnamon
Serve with hot chappathis.
Use the meat hammer to crack the shell and use a marrow spoon if you are not comfortable using your fingers.
