Well, the image and idea of an "ideal" resort was unclearin my mind. This place actually gave me an understanding of what “ideal”actually means. We were a group of 6 people staying there for couple of daysand the resort was just out of the world. Amazing is not the word I would chose to describe RAPPA, in fact awesome is the appropriate word.
The drive was over4 hours and the roads from Bangaloreare quite manageable. We landed in RAPPA for lunch and our hungry stomach was greeted with some delicious lunch. The food at the resort is good and the hygiene is outstanding. Since we were staying on a weekday, the entire resort was ours, the kitchen and food service is good, we hardly waited for anything. The host (VijayDas-RAPPA owner) was at his best, he not only took care of us well, but also managed to cater to every request of ours.
My advice to you is to not have any expectation while going to this place, there maybe power cuts in the night, no water, no fans and noac. If you are a sophisticated person, then you might as well visit any of the 5 star resorts in coorg or yercaud. RAPPA is not the place for having room service and your favorite daily print media. Pure thrill, nature get away and “unplanned”activity should be your only agenda and I’m sure the host will take good care of you. If you are a pet lover than this place is heaven, Vijay’s has 4 canines, 1 squirrel, and some more pets. You should visit this place to know more.
The picturesque view from the tent and the scenic beauty ofthe reservoir is mind blowing. The weather was pleasing and this resort breathes nature with the mild winds whizzing past the cottages. You actually need 3-4 days to completely experience rappa. Try it out when you find time and please take your own vehicle, the drive on the reservoir banks will give you anadrenalin rush, believe me when I say that!!
