( First of all I want to describe something before starting my tips) All of the suggestion are followed under an house expert ; an expert who is really an expert in making food ( yes that is my mom) and if readers like this tips then all credits goes to my mom ( so thank you mom) . Now as we eat different type of food whether it is vegetarian ( like fruits, green vegitables , rice etc etc) or Non vegetarian food like ( fish , chicken , meat etc etc) but beside it we should also know how to preserve it too. So the saftey tips for preservation of food as follows and by reading it I am sure you will learn how to handle some of food stuffs as follows :
1) SAFE COOKING IS RELATED TO TEMPERATURE : Yes according to my MOM suggestion safe cooking is related with temperature. When it comes to non vegetarian stuff like cooking chicken , meat and fish the correct temperature for its cooking purpose and then if any extra stuff remain then to preserve it ( for next day use , if you want it instead of wasting it by keeping it fresh) a correct temperature is required. One could note it by digital thermometer or by using ovan ( for cooking) and using refrigerator ( for preserving it) also note those temperature scale so that one could guess at what temperature does the food remains fresh.
2) . DEFROSTING FOOD : Here defrosting means to remove ice cover from food ( especially those food stuff which you keep in refrigerator for longer time to remain food preserved through out day) . Thus this technique is to important because when I was trying to remove ice from fish ( when my mom was using removing fish for making fish curry , she removed it from fridge and I was too helping it she first removed it from fridge and then leave it on kitchen platform like that only to melt that ice cover when it come under normal temperature i.e . Room temperature after then she starts chopping it and then all process started) . So I have written one process which was showed by my mom. And similarly your to could do it with any other non vegetarian food and with vegetarian foods too ( when you remove it from fridge for the next day use) .
3) . SAFE FOOD STORAGE : For food items especially like Rice . In my home rice is stored in one steel drum in which it have capacity to hold more then 50kg of storage. But due to beetles ( an small insect) such food item could get damage. Thus to prevent it my mom use neem leaf ( at least two to three neem leaf ) spreaded on stored Rice which prevent those beetles to come near to that rice. So buy such storage of food item one could make it safe to eat . ( For longer time) .
4) ABOUT GROCERY BAGS : Dont use the same grocery bag ( I mean which is once used) to bring vegetables and other item like onion, tomatoes or even fruit. Because reusing grocery bag ( especially which is made from plastic and jute or special type of clothing material ) could damage those ( above) food item and its freshness may lost we think that ( while bringing it from outside shop to our home it may protect but it is not like that even plastic and jute bags to can carry small insects) which may damage your food items. So please use cleaned bags to bring food items from market . And use two bags one day you could use the one bag clean it leave it two become dry and perfect. And similarly use next bag next day for buying food items and then dont forget to clean it for its use .
5) LEARN FOR LEFT OVER : Learn how to store left over foods. It could be either nutrition for soil if all the food waste is dumped underground. ( Now here waste means like fruits skin especially bannana skin) instead of throwing it one could also dumped in your backyard ground soil where insects and bacteria could host on it and make soil bacteria enriched. Also if the cooked food is not smelling one could re- heat and eat it on next day.
So like that one could use and also eat left over food item.
6) CANNING : Canning is a process where food iteam is stored in can. Now such method could be used to preserve fish buy keeping it in refrigerator. Or One could also keep those Can ( which contain fish) and could be kept in bowl which contains cold water half of the bowl. So food item could be stored in such a way.
