The qualifying criteria for applying in the Universities of USA is the candidate should have minimum education of 12+4 years in India.
Since, BCA & BSCIT degrees are for 12+3 years, they can pursue a Post Graduate Diploma course which is of one year and make sure the college from which you are completing the course is affiliated to university or else it won’t be recognized.
Apart from these, each candidate has to have a GRE examination and TOEFL/ IELTS examination valid score to apply in Universities.
GRE is a test to check proficiency in english, and basics concept of mathematics and TOEFL/ IELTS is a test to check the proficiency in english.
GRE scores are valid for 5 years and TOEFL/ IELTS scores are valid for 2 years so candidates normally give these exams during their 2nd last or last year of degree.
You also need transcripts which is nothing but a set of official statement from college which represents your marks of all semesters and are sealed in an envelope by the college officials and 2 letter of recommendations from your college professors and hod or if you are working anywhere then from your manager.
These set of documents along with college application form are to be couriered to the universities and communicate for further process online on the universities website.
Universities generally take 2-3 months to reply and document gathering, preparing and applying for the exams takes 6-8 months.
Hence, an ideal time to start preparing for your application of masters in USA university would be approximate a year before you wish to go.
