Internet abuse is the term describes internet forgery, spamming, scamming take place. as internet is a safe place for criminals to do crime we have to be carefull. I used this form to give you adivice and some measures you can take to avoid internet abuse.
Generally people who do crime on internet think they are safe. but generally they are not. with advanced tools we can search them. if any one send spam email we can trace the ip by opening the email headers. email header can be viewed in outlook by selecting show full headers. we can also right click the email message and select view source. we can find the ip address.
put the ipaddress in https://geobytes.com/IpLocator.htm and we can see where exactly that ip address located. yahoo, gmail, hotmail etc gives antispam. enable it to avoid spam and block the email addresses.
next internet forgery happens in ebay and other ecommerce websites. their are lots of complaints regarding purchase through ebay. before purchasing through ebay collect all contact information regarding the seller, his reputation percentage.
there is another internet scamming happening in the name of make money online for using internet. only one site is reputed and pays us money. that is google adsense. that is only genuine site that pay there users. there is a website named https://surfjunky.com which is a scam. before going through any internet websites just do a search in google mentioning that site name. you will get comments regarding that website. but my advice is trust google adsense if you need money by internet.
**Internet Complaint Website**
There is a Website owned by US FBI where we can register complaints regarding internet abuse. it is https://complaint.ic3.gov/Default.aspx . if you feel that you are cheated or spammed scammed by a website or email refer that web and file a complaint. they will contact you by email and even phone for serious issues. make sure you have all supporting documents and evidences printed.
General advice to common man who browse internet and avoid abuse are.
1 : do not open any unknown email
2 : do not publish your email address and other contact info on socail networking websites except friends and close friends. there is an option where you can filter viewers in orkut.com.
3 : Do not publish your photograph if you are a female gender in orkut or other networking websites. there may be chance of abuse.
4 : do not give any contact information to strangers while on chat.
5 : install good antivirus and internet security on your computer. I suggest norton. if you need a free one Avast antivirus is better. dont use Avg.
6: Recently there was an email coming to most of us regarding a job offering in canada or london. they are scam and don’t reply to it. never reply to an email coming with subject bank of africa or some one loose there property in Africa and there father saved some money. they need your help to transfer it. never reply to that email.
7 : People using icicibank.com beware there is a phishing website similar to it. look for a lock icon at the bottom right of internet explorer. if there is a lock icon then the website is original. do not give your transaction password or password in icicibank.com or any website. if any one or website or company ask you for password remember they are fraud.
this are general advice I can give you. but remember internet is a world of viruses, spammers, scammers, abusers, frauds and liers. ofcourse there are good people like me and you too. in mouth shut if you see such spammers choose distrust that member and mouth shut will close there id if they recieve few request.
