Digital Cameras, Cell Phones, Cordless Phones, DVD players .
Outdated and obsolete technology being dumped on us.
Be aware when U are buying any electronic item in India or any third world countries. All the 3rd grade stock, outdated technology, seconds, rejected lots are shipped to these countries.
Take an example of any brand of cameras, CD DVD MP3 VCD players or video cameras. They all are minimum of five to ten year old technology being dumped to these countries.
The other end is Credit Card companies, who send leaflets showing MRP and reduced price at 50%. They get in bulk and pose as if doing service to the customers.
Be careful and check for the same model in any of the developed countries. They are available at a price of 50% of what one get in developing or under-developed countries.
I visited China in 2003, where I found Kodak Film Cameras(KB10) are sold on footpath at a price of 100 Yuans(Chinese curency), i.e. about Rs. 600/-. The same model is being sold in India at that time, for price of Rs. 999 with two free films. The model is outdated, even in China, and the camera is not bought, even by kids in Chinese villages, leave aside main towns.
Check any of these sites for current models and pricing:

Regarding, quality and customer service, better not to open mouth.
Same thing about mobile phones(celluar phones), better not to say any thing.
Look at the cordless phones, even today they are sold above Rs. 2000/- for a decent model. The same is available at$25 anywhere in the world.
