The Park usually takes immense pride in doing things differently-in fact, they dont do out-of-the-box.there be no box! Now the only loose thread here is to find out if the customer wants to lose the box as well.
Come Valentine’s day and I was frantically trying to make last minute bookings for din-din at The Aqua, since hubby and I got cross with the Umerkot guys for their gross attitude. Called Park at 11 am on the 14th only to be told that the restaurent opens only post 6pm-So where could the reservations be made? I was promptly put onto room service(?) Neways, reservations all done, we landed up at the restaurant on the dot. Ignoring the man’s entry of my booking as’Mr. Merchant’, we were greeted by another guy who told us that they only had one offer for the night which was a package deal of 3, 500 for unlimited drink and food. Looked like we had no other option but to take that one.
The ambience around the pool was awesome with the gazebos and some of the seating placed in such a way that your leg could have a dip in the temperature controlled pool. The cocktails were wonderful.specially the Mr &Mrs Martini. The starters were tastefully done(Veg n Non Veg) and disappeared faster than dew post sunrise. We hardly knew where an hour and a half went as we chatted away. Time for main course and we called for the menu:
’Only starters and cocktails included in the package sir’
’Can we have main course from the coffee shop brought in here?’
’No Sir, that cant be done’
’Argggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh’
The place is great, ambience is wonderful, and drinks/starters are amazing.but I would think a hotel of Park’s calibre would have:
Informed us about the only package available for the night
Upfront given us the cost that the package entailed during bookings
Given us the components of the package
Atleast got an alternative for their guests post drinks and starters(Did they really think people would wanna move two places for one meal/?)
A great place to go if you know what to expect, before hand!
