Its really sad that inspite of so much talent in the country and crores of rupees being folwing in BCCI, Indian Cricket has hit rock bottom.I as an Indian Cricket Fan have no problem whatsoever with the money flowing in as it will only help improve the basic infrastructure and facilities along with developing cricket at grass root levels.but is it really happening?
Since the World Cup debacle, there has been series of controversies where everyone is blaming each other for the unexpected outcome.I am not sure who said what and what other person replied( there’s so much contradictory reports floating in the media as its completely impossible to know the real truth and what really went wrong on the tour).
Dont we as an Indian fan and well-wisher of Indian Cricket deserves to know?( that too not because we want to curse the person responsible for it but rather make sure that that individual or group of individuals realise their mistake and realize they represent India( our country for whom we can do anything) and. not a team on a zonal level.
There was so much speculation before BCCI meeting( on April 6-7 at Mumbai) and what happened? Yes.you guessed a right.Nothing.Same again a series of **dimensionless steps with no vision at all.
I have few queries (if any Indian cricket fan help me in this) to the BCCI.
Why Indian Cricket don’t have a performance based system where a player( of whatever stature it may be) is dropped instantly if he’s not performing.Ganguly was dropped and now he knows he can’t take his place in team for granted.I salute Cricket Australia for devising such practical, justified, transparent system .
Why India dont have fast pitches so that India can do atleast reasonably well when they tour outside sub-continent?Baring Mohali and Eden Gardens no Indian stadiums have pitches which can really groom all round cricketers( doing well in India as well as when they tour aboad).Maybe this is one of the reason for a tremendous gap which a player experiences where in he scores double hundred in Ranji Trophy but struggles in Australia, New Zealand, South Africa.Its not for a player to blame but .you know that( BCCI).
3. What BCCI has done to improve standard of cricket at grass root level from where potential future Tendulkar’s can be indentified and groomed well.What long term strategy BCCI has devised for this and if yes, is it monitored frankly.i have serious doubts.
- Limiting endorsement to three?.what this means?.what difference it will make.will it really stop them for concentrating on something other than cricket?.I**ts something which is in mind and cant be forced to?
5. Are National Cricket Acadamies and other acadamies under BCCI really showing potential results.Why Indian cant boost of quality all-rounders of likes of Symonds, Flintoff and express pace as Brett lee.Where’s the flaw?Has BCCI cared to look upon it?
6.Why Indian dont boost of more flexible and result oriented domestic setup where there are less teams and more intense competition.similar to four team league in Australia?
7.Why senior players are not stressed upon to prove their mettle in domestic league.Why they always shy away from playing in domestic circut when they have no international assignments?
8.Why there’s so much of communication gap between players and BCCI? I think there’s solution to everything if sit down upon and discussed.so why players head to media instead of informing BCCI about it.is’nt there more need for more close well sort out communication channel between players and BCCI.Has BCCi pondered to care about it?
- Venkatesh Prasad as Bowling Coach?.com on i know he has served Indian cricket well but still Venkatesh Prasad.we need people with great intensity who makes you mentally tough and inpire you to aim middle stump each time you bowl.Indian team lacks that ruthlessness to demolish the opposition.**Has BCCI seriously given thought over bowling coach or its again a decision taken in haste?
10.Where’s India A team?Why its composed each time some A team tour comes up and why they are not toured frequently abroad to get accustomed to conditions there?India needs strong bench strength and good quality, aggresive, mentally tough A team.
I think that’s it for now.I will really appreciate replies from people who love Indian cricket and cares for it.
Like any other cricket fan, I am hopeful BCCI will learn from mistakes.Get over BCCI from petty politics, money power, zonal discrimination, ego problems.we all should only care for is only one thing.VICTORIOUS, MORE COMMITTED, RUTHLESS, AGGRESSIVE TEAM INDIA and believe me bucks will flow. .don’t worry about that.
