Much water has flown in River Ganga after my last review in 2006. Tendulkar has improved and started sharing burden. It appears from his voice that his Mercury is powerful. It is said that Mercury is Yuvaraj and likes to play( like Cricketer Yuvaraj) and does not like to take responsibility. That is why Tendulkar is still far below Viv Richards in the new list of useful players to their team to win matches, inspite of so many record breaking feats. Ganguli has become a truely non playing captain & cricketer after the last( fixed)sale of horses for IPL.
BCCI should not expect too much from the Indian team in this world cup as the limitations were clear in the last OD match against South Africa. There is no terrific bowler like Dale Stein in the team and Sri Santh has been kept out( Regional politics?). They can go on counting their wealth earned by IPL series and drink coke with Sachin. Can have stronger doses in Kingfisher( Water?) brands being advertised on TV.
Read many interesting points and suggestions in the review and comments on "GENERAL ADVICE ON THE B. C. C. I " by By: kgvdoss| Sep 25, 2005.
After watching the Champion trophy match between India & Australia, I had more thoughts which cannot be covered by few comments. Hence a fresh review as Busy Bee used to say "All my own points and thoughts"
Suggestions to BCCI-
Do not make Tendulkar as head of BCCI but make him Captain of Indian team . It will have many benefits- He will relieve Dravid of the onerous task of captaincy. Dravid is required to be batting most of the time when India bats and possibly cannot think of a solution to accelerate scoring rate. Dravid is such a gem of a person that he will surely find a solution when time is available and mind is free. Tendulkar will come back to Pavillion soon after opening innings and will have all time to think of right strategies- e.g. sending right person to bat- Dhoni instead of Kaif when Dravid is at other end or Kaif(rare case when Sehwag is at the other end even when Tendulkar and Dravid are gone)to be just there etc. Tendulkar will drink Pepsi and look cool so his sponsors will be happy & BCCI will get more pots of money by ads. He can also listen to expert advice from Saurav who will be drinking Coke to keep balance between competitors. This will be of course shown on TV channels at a price. Tendulkar will be a member of the team and a non-playing captain but counted in eleven to keep our traditions intact-Vizzy in old days and more recently Saurav Ganguli. Other nonperforming players will not feel lonely e.g. RP Singh as a non-bowler or Patel(Amul) as a non-wicketkeeper. Tendulkar will wear goggles of course imported and sponsored) so that expressions in his eyes will not be visible. Frustrations on the face of Dravid who does not like loss to India are more transperent while Tendulkar does not care. That will boost morale of team. 2 The Team has still to win with fewer performers out of eleven. Few suggestions for the same—
Make them active and alert by purifying their system. This should be done by asking them to drink lot of pure water and not any artifical drinks. Purity can be certified by Amirkhan although he is not an expert. The water can be then branded and sold by BCCI to make more money. Ask Dhoni every time to remember the milk he had drunk & others to remember the salt they have taken from Indian Environment. Selectors should be asked to take oath for remaining true to India only and not to their zones or favourite players. Money on sponsorships should be paid to the players depending on% wins. e.g if team wins World Cup- All money plus 10% bonus from BCCI. If it reaches finals 100%. If it reaches Semi Final –50%, Quarter finals 25% etc. Rest of the money out of 100% collected should be given to Education ministry to improve schools as so many students lose millions of days watching dismal performance of our crickt heroes.
