The best waterfalls of India

For a moment it seems like the heavens are blessing us. The bewitching beauty of the water falling from the skies enthral us, and fortunately in India we have it in abundance. Nature has bestowed upon us its beauty and the waterfalls epitomises that. Here are the top five waterfalls I have chosen, these may not be the most voluminous or the highest. These may never compare to the grandeur of the Niagara or the Victoria falls but they are beautiful. These are by my own experiences some of the best in India and if you think others are worthy to be added to the list, please feel free to add it in the comments.

**==1.Jog Falls, Shimoga Karnataka==**

Some of the best waterfalls in India happens to be in Karnataka, and it is not surprising that my list is also topped by one of them. The second highest waterfalls in India falling down from a cliff of 253 meters, and in the monsoon more than 3 million tonnes of water fall of it very second. Truly a majestic sight indeed.

==**2. Dudhsagar Falls, Goa**==

Literally meaning the ‘Sea of Milk’, this waterfall transforms itself into the most powerful and breath taking sights in the monsoon. The waterfall also happens to be the backdrop of a train ride in the Konkan, a ride which can be called heavenly. At a height of more than 300 meters this is one of the highest waterfalls in the country.

**==3.     Iruppu Falls, Coorg==**

Blessed with a lot of natural beauty, Coorg is one of the most popular hill stations especially towards the south. A trip is Coorg is incomplete without visiting the Iruppu Falls. It is located near Nagarhole National Park. The place becomes crowded especially during Shivratri when devotees flock the location to free themselves of their sins at the nearby Shiva temple.

**==4.     Athirappily Falls, Thrissur==**

There is no state in our country more beautiful than Kerala. The name brings with it sights of lush green fields, beautiful beaches and breathtaking waterfalls, it is hence no crime to forget that this is a land with beautiful waterfalls as well. The best of which is the Athirappily Falls. This has traditionally been a favourite shooting spot for many well-known Indian directors.

**==5.     Kune Falls, Maharasthra==**

Away from the hustle and bustle of Mumbai, there are many locations in Maharashtra which brings us closer to nature and waterfalls big and small are abundant in this state. Standing tall among its contemporaries is the Kune Falls at 200 m high. The three tiered waterfalls sand out especially during the monsoon when trekkers flock this spot.
