So much for broadband, unleashing copper wire et al. We are way behind in exploiting Internet. Yet we have a lot of copper wire, infrastruture both public and private investment.
The bureacracy TRAI should do some soul searching & see if they are doing their work to promote India Inc, through this media, ironically possible without much additional investment by Govt, if only they are pragmatic in the tariff management & tariff for Internet usage, in particular broadband usage!
Rs 2 per MB prevailing is killing killer application opportunities for India; whereas Indian s/w majors are rolling out such’enablers’ to the rest of the world. Does TRAI, Ministry of Comm & Min of IT consider it an insult to consult these guys to find ways and means of exploiting existing infrastructure in India, for India?
