Had an surgery in a well-known hospital in Kolkata.
Estimation sent to Genins India private TPA ltd.(authorized TPA of United India Insurance Co. Ltd) they have pre approved the medical cost of rupess 3, 15, 000. and paid Rs72.500 as advance to the hospital.
On the day of discharge our bill was Rs, 2, 41, 000 well under the approved amount.
But the Insurance company have approved only RS, 1, 34, 000(including the paid 72.500)
When we asked for the clarification over telephone their ILL MANNERED STAFF denied to give us any explanation.
When we force and told them we will go against them to the consumer court they informed us that we are under PPN package but the surgery cost(OT charges etc) was out of that package. and Hospital need to give the papers for that.
We contact hospital they have proved that they have already provided the details to insurance company on DAY 1(day of admission).
Insurance company(TPA) denied that and didn’t receive anything like that. It seems TPA is FRAUD and NOT RELIABLE at all please BE CAUTIOUS before buying any insurance from them.
