We watched the Hindi movie Ghajini today. Asin was her usual self-very good and Aamir fitted the role of the business man. I must say that I avoided watching the movie for the last two weeks as I watched the tamil movie with Surya in the lead and did not want to watch the remake. But, after seeing the hype about the gross collections, I decided to watch the movie to see for myself how the HIndi version is.
The theatre was less than 25% full for a Saturday evening show. Asin played the same role and was as good in the Hindi as the original. Though I like Aamir, I found myself comparing the acting with Surya.
The movie was as violent as the tamil one and quite unrealistic. The simplistic helpful girl can be there only in make believe. Nobody would be foolish to get into as much trouble as she does. An empty train like how we see in the movie is yet to be seen.
Aamir looked very old in front of a youthful Asin.I am inclined to conclude that there is a lot of stuff in tam movies(some, not all)
Jiah khan was not a patch on Nayantara, who too would have fitted in the hindi ghajini. No idea why Aamir did not call her.
The movie is not worth watching more than once.
