Ghajini

The movie title made me think about mohammed ghauri mohammed ghazni and so on for the mughal marauders who wreaked havoc in India eons ago This movie is reminiscent of a movie called Memento but then Memento was a class apart or a class which took me two full viewings to get the grip on it[blame my low IQ]

Aamir Khan’s performance is good and I am going with the tide for I do not have the courage to say that his performance is average. His persona his 13 month’s old worked out body and some sort of 12-13 packs pack a punch which the viewer has to just gape at.

The story revolves around the boy meets girl or rather the other way around and then proceeds onto a hilarious caper with the girl a role played by Asin Thottumkal, a vivacious and an enthusiastic model who does soap ads and the lot. The boy apparently is a scion of a big business empire bolstered by his dad and hence is a big shot before he was/is born. The model’s boss played by the effervescent Tinnu Anand is good nay better

Asin T as kalpana is the usp of the film [barring Aamir].Her onscreen presence cannot be ignored and isn’t as she simply acts and acts simply.

The plot about tattoos and anterograde amnesia [an amnesia whose effects are seen after an event] instead of the retrograde amnesia is the theory behind this film

How Aamir cannot remember about the incident which has happened 15 minutes ago and the main cause for it forms the fulcrum of this movie and his mission

Good loses out to evil in the worst possible way and then somehow regains lost ground by the end and yet is supposed to have won in the end

The movie is not for the weak hearted and never the one for the strong ones either. It tells you all about the bad things happening currently and we are all exposed to the news about sex rackets, illegal kidney extractions, murders , corrupt policemen and what not. There is a lot of blood spilling and a lot of punching and a rampaging Aamir who blows any one and everyone like a tornado. A nondescript cop who is after him and then Aamir is after him in one scene?

All in all, if you are living in reality then this movie gives evidence of your existence in this utterly dangerous world. It inspires the viewer to blow the world and just as Gladiator did instil in him a sense of desperation to do whatever he feels

Takeaways-Asin Thottumkal , Aamir’s physique
