Ghanchakkar - Good one

Here comes a dark comedy from the Bollywood. Had there been any in the past, not sure but this one is really a stuff well thought of and executed. I definitely would like to see more movies like this coming out....and soon.

So that’s about the introduction, lets see what was there which I liked so much. Its the intertwined questions, plots, situations and haplessness of a man who has lost his memory (this is no Ghajini) and try to rebuild his so called simple life yet falls time and again which makes you feel for him, laugh at him and at times empathize with him. Jholu Ram aka Sanju (Emraan) has done a wonderful job portraying this coming-of-age con man who, unfortunately (for him and hilarious for audience) lost his memory. His attempts to remember are funny indeed.

Vidya Balan, portrayed a loud-foul-mouthed-I-am-always-right Punjabi lady. The chemistry between her and Emraan just sticks to the plot and serves as a constant thread through out the film. Her numerous attempts to make her husband remember where the "suitcase" are funny and at times, desperate.

As for other two main characters, Namit Das has acted out of his skin for this role, but one can still say certain parts were over the top OR not necessary. One tends to feel it wasn’t really apt, at times. Rajesh Sharma has come a long way since his "Munjal (Khosla ka Ghosla)" days and establishing himself as more an more sophisticated actor.

No need to reveal the plot as I guess in today’s ultra-social-networking-days, one is aware of the plot even before the movie is released. Ghanchakkar is indeed a thriller, there are plots and sub plots... it tells story of a man who has lost his memory, who is doubting his loving wife, try to restructure his life and fails miserably at it. Its funny yet serious tale which one should see, at least once. This is a good attempt from the traditional masala films and is worth watching.
